  • 3. Why am I getting an error when installing the package?

The most likely problem for this is when a process on your PC is interfering with the install.  Usually the culprit is the process which handles your .zip files.  To solve this please try rebooting your PC, and then try importing the .zip file into NoteCaddy -> Tools -> Import Coaching Package.

  • 4. How long does it take to reset and reprocess notes in NoteCaddy?

It depends on how many hands are in your database, and how many hands per second you are getting in NoteCaddy.  Here are some examples of how long it would take:

    100k hands @ 25 hands/sec = 1.11 hours

    300k hands @ 50 hands/sec = 1.67 hours

    1M hands @ 100 hands/sec = 2.78 hours

    3M hands @ 70 hands/sec = 11.9 hours

To find out exactly how long it would take for you, you can calculate it by following these steps:

    1) Find your hands per minute:  Multiply hands per second * 60

    2) Find your hands per hour:  Multiply hands per minute * 60

    3) Hours to complete = Amount of hands to process /  hands per hour

  • 3. How do I edit the HUD appearance?

Editing of the HUD is done in HM2 -> HUD Settings.  Some common settings which you may want to play with are:

General Settings -> Choose your HUD at the top left -> Stat Padding -  I like this set at 2.  If you want to change how close stats are to each other, you can modify this.

General Settings -> Choose your HUD at the top left -> Hide Hero HUD - I like this option checked to save table space, but if you prefer to see the Hero HUD at the table, then you will want to make sure it's unchecked.

  • 4. Can you explain the small stats on the PRO HUD?

The small stats are correlating stats to the bigger stats that they're connected to.  Please see the HUD Layout PDF to see what exactly they mean.

If you have a hard time reading the small stat numbers, do not worry too much.  Mainly what you need to see is the color of these small stats.  These colors tell us quickly if the stat is low, average, or high, so we can proceed with our decision.  If you would like to have the stat appear more readable though, you may want to try a larger HUD size, or customize the HUD yourself by changing the font for the statistics which are too small for you in HM2 -> HUD Settings -> Stat Appearance.

  • 1. Why don't the Badges appear at my PokerStars or Full Tilt tables?

These sites have rules that don’t allow badges at their live tables. HM2 automatically stops them from showing for you so that you don’t break the terms.  Full details of their rule changes are here:  http://forums.holdemmanager.com/notecaddy/191131-badges-not-showing-hud-but-replayer.html#post2468872.

The Badges will still show in the HM2 replayer for PokerStars/FTP.  They can still be useful for reviewing purposes.

Badges will appear on live tables at other networks which are compatible with HM2 like, iPoker, 888, Party, WPN, Winamax, and others.

  • 3. What are the small colored boxes on the Badges?

These are indicators for low, average, or high for the stat.

If a badge has more than one small colored box at the top of it, it means that this badge is showing you information for more than just one statistic.  For example the blue “Dy” badge has 2 boxes at the top:  the top left box is “Fold v Delayed CB OOP”, and the top right box is your “Fold v Delayed CB IP” stat.

To see what each Badge means you can open the Badges PDF file, located in your desktop folder "NoteCaddy Coaching Pack Files".

  • 5. How do I get the Badges onto my own HUD?

Instructions for Adding NCE 3.0 Badges to your own HUD

    1)  In HoldemManager2 click HUD Settings, and choose your HUD at the top left.

    2) In the HUD Designer section on the right side scroll down to “NoteCaddy” and click on the arrow to left side of it.

    3) Click the arrow to the left of “Badges”.

    4) You'll see many “PrefixedBadge” entries. These are what you want to add to your HUD. The NCE 3.0 Badges have numbers ranging from “01” and up. We have set the numbers from lowest to highest for the order we like them in, but you can add them in whichever order you'd like for them to appear on your HUD.

  • 2. Can you explain the placement of the Popup stats under Flop / Turn / River?

It may be confusing if you see a stat like Bet Turn vs. MissedCB under the Flop column rather than under the Turn column.  We place it here because the MissedCB is on the Flop, which is what we're interested in finding more about.

In this type of situation we not only want to see how often he Bets vs. the Missed CB, but we also want to look at the related statistics, like how often he Folds to a CB, and his follow-up actions when does Bet Turn vs. a Missed FlopCB.  By placing the stat where we did, we can easily access related information.

  • 4. Why are my HUDs/Popups mostly blank? Stats aren't showing

The most common solution to this is to reset and reprocess your notes.  NoteCaddy needs to create the notes for your database of hands.

    Here's a helpful link: http://wiki.assaultware.com/How-to-reset-NoteCaddy-notes.ashx

Problem remains?  There could be multiple scenarios to troubleshoot in this case, here are the most common solutions:

1)It could happen if NoteCaddy -> File -> Filters has some filters set which are excluding notes from being taken. If you change the filters, you will want to reset and reprocess your notes for it to take effect on previously processed hands.

2)It could also happen if you do not actually have the hands in your database. For instance if you purged the hands from your database, HM2 will still show stats, but NoteCaddy does not have the hands to create notes from. If this is the case, I would suggest to create a new database in HM2 and import the hands you want from your C:\HM2Archive directory. Once your hands are imported NoteCaddy should process your notes, and you should see the stats appearing.

3)Another reason could be that your filters in HM2 and NoteCaddy don't match up. They work independently from each other.. meaning that HM2 filters don't apply to NoteCaddy stats and vice versa. This link is helpful to help resolve that http://wiki.assaultware.com/Understa...at-values.ashx. If you only need to change your HM2 filters, and it solves the issue, that is the best case scenario for you, because it doesn't require a reset of your notes.

  • 5. How can I reduce lag?

    These links are helpful:

    1) http://forums.holdemmanager.com/general-support/494402-hm2-performance-tips-3.html#post2267712

    2) http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/1501/What+can+be+done+if+HUD+is+lagging?

    Manage your Database Size

If you're using tens of millions of hands in your database you are much more likely to run into issues.  We don't condone datamining, but if you are doing it, you must be sure to actively maintain your database and not let it grow out of control.  If your database is getting very large and your HM2/NC is getting slower, try creating a new database in HM2 and just import the newer hands that you need.  It should help immensely.  Also it may help you get better reads on your opponents because you are getting rid of old data that may not be accurate for the player any longer.

Delete packages and definitions that you no longer use from NoteCaddy

The more definitions you have active in your NoteCaddy, means the more data that is trying to get loaded from your database, leading to lag.  Remove unneeded definitions by going into NoteCaddy and use shift+click to highlight definitions you don't need any longer.  Right-click on one of the selected definitions and choose "Make Inactive".

If you still have troubles, and you're using NCE 3.0 PRO, you should consider switching to NCE 3.0.

Please contact us if you have any troubles with the steps in the links, or if you have any further questions.

    Please see this link:  http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/1931/How+to+setup+Holdem+Manager+to+run+with+Poker+Stars+Zoom+Tables

Also in NoteCaddy -> File -> Settings -> HUD --  The last 2 options here, you may want to play with.

By default I recommend to have the bottom option checked, and the 2nd from bottom option unchecked.

For Zoom it makes sense to try and switch these (bottom unchecked & 2nd from bottom checked), or uncheck both.

If the HUD starts flashing constantly, you will want to make sure "Update HUD immediately when data changes" is unchecked.
